Things Are Moving Along

Since the last time I blogged there have been some changes to the house.  Jared has started to paint with the help of some people.  Most of the house is primed.  The kitchen/dining room has the first coat of our top paint on it and all the other colors for the rest of the house are picked out.  Additionally a lot of the rooms have one coat of the ceiling paint we are using.  Jared's parent's were here yesterday and today and had planned on putting first coats of our top paint in other rooms on, but when they got to the house the dry wall guys had patched holes (made by the electrician) throughout the house.  So since the spackle was wet they were not able to go ahead and start painting the colors.  They moved on to painting the baseboard trim in the bedrooms so that can be done before the carpets get installed.

Over this past weekend the hardwood floors in the living room, dining room, kitchen and mudroom were all refinished.  They look fantastic.  This made us be out of the house for the entire weekend since we couldn't be on the floors.

Tuesday our kitchen cabinets were delivered and started getting installed.  The cabinets should be fully installed today and I can't wait to go see them after work.  I have pictures posted below from how they looked yesterday.

In the next couple of days the dry wall in the mudroom, 3rd floor attic and the stairway openings should all be getting completed.  The counter top for the kitchen are going to be templated tomorrow so we should have our counter top installed next week sometime.   Our appliances are being delivered tomorrow.  The kitchen is starting look like a real kitchen and by next week should hopefully look pretty close to done.  I think the only thing that might not be done next week in the kitchen is the tile backsplash.

Yesterday PECO came out and did some work outside to run gas to the house.  The meter is getting installed tomorrow and the line PECO ran outside is going to get connected to the house tomorrow.  So then we will officially have gas to run our brand new heating system.
