So Close but Yet So Far
Yesterday we tried to have our POD delivered and ran in to some issues. Apparently the snow and ice were to much for the truck to be able to get the POD in to our driveway. We knew we weren't going to be able to move our stuff in this weekend, but we were hoping to be able to start moving things in this week. In addition to the floors being refinished this weekend there are some other things that need to be finished. Some of it is painting, which Jared has been working hard to do and will probably finish up after we move in. The electrician was in yesterday installing some more light fixtures, outlets and switches. Hopefully one more day will finish that up. The plumber has installed the laundry sink in the basement and has the kitchen sink pretty set up. He has some more to do in the bathrooms, the dishwasher and fridge. Hopefully one more day of work by him will finish the last items. Then there are some other miscellaneous items, some final trim work, finishing up the banister up the stairs, carpet installation, and some outside things that need to wait until the snow clears. Sorry about some of the fuzzy pictures. I was taking them in the dark.

Progress
A good amount of work has been done since the last time I blogged. The kitchen sink and one side of the kitchen's counters has been installed. The other side is waiting on a replacement base cabinet for the granite to get installed. The fridge is not actually hooked up yet and neither is the faucet, but the plumber is working on it.
Jared has been a painting maniac with the help of many people over the past weekend and his parents during the weeks when they are around. The nursery, master bedroom and hallway all have two coats of paint on the walls, ceiling and trim work. The windows still need some work throughout the whole house and the ceilings need some touch ups done on some spots where the wall paint has gotten on the ceiling. But the rooms are looking great. Once the carpet and light fixtures (the ceiling fan is in the nursery but that is the only place) are installed these rooms will be pretty much done until we move in and have time to work on the windows. The trim work on the windows need some work besides just paint so they probably won't get done until we move in. The electrician has been working on putting in outlets everywhere, but we still need the outlet covers and the light switches hooked up throughout the house.
The guest bedroom has 3 walls with 2 coats of paint on them, the ceiling has two coats of paint and the baseboards have 1 coat of paint (the picture below was prior to painting the baseboards with the 1 coat of paint). The last wall is waiting for the contractor to properly close up the door that was removed from the bedroom to the bathroom. So hopefully that gets done soon and then this room can be completed once the carpet is installed and as I said above the windows will probably get done after we move in.
The office has all the trim work back on, all nail holes filled and sanded down and ready for paint. The railing going up to the third floor has also been installed, nail holes filled and sanded so just waiting paint. The walls and ceiling are primed and the ceiling has the final coat paint done as well.
The third floor has been fully dry walled out. Over the weekend the walls, ceiling and trim work were all primed. I don't have a picture of them primed, just the dry wall.
The upstairs bathroom is really coming along now. The door to the bedroom has been removed and filled in with drywall, still needs some finishing done on it but at least it is filled in. The wainscoting is up in the bathroom as well. Over the last couple of days Jared and I have filled all the nail holes in the wainscoting and sanded them down. Jared put 1 coat of primer on it all and last night put 1 coat of top paint on the wainscoting. I don't have a picture of the painted stuff but I will get more pictures and post for the next time. Also, the plumber started working on the plumbing for the shower, which you can see from this nice hole in the nicely painted hallway. Once Jared is done painting the wainscoting the new toilet and vanity/sink will be installed. I put the vanity together over the weekend, but it is hanging out in the master bedroom for now.
Over the weekend the living room walls and mudroom walls were painted 1 coat. Then any holes/cracks were spackled and sanded. The living has the second final coat on it, but the mudroom does not yet. Again I don't have any pictures of this so you will have to catch them next time. I do however have pictures of the built in bookcase in the living room under the stairs. These are not finished yet, but they are looking great. You will also get a nice shot of one of the workers working on the bookcase.
In addition the heater is all hooked up and working for the basement and 1st floor. The second unit up in the eves of the 3rd floor is hooked up, but not turned on yet. There is still to much dust up there to turn it on yet. The hot water heater is hooked up and working, the house officially has hot water again. The electrician is working his way through the house installing outlets, light switches and light fixtures (slowly by surely). The plumber is working on connecting the sink in the basement to the drain (it had to be moved over some to fit the dryer) and he is starting to hook up things in the kitchen and will continue to work on plumbing in the upstairs bathroom once Jared is done painting the wainscoting, which should hopefully be this evening.
We are hoping to have our POD delivered on the 15th and start moving things in that weekend. We have told the contractor that numerous times and have not been told yet that it won't happen. So we will see.

Kitchen and Dry Wall
The kitchen cabinets are all now fully installed. The hardware is on them as well, but for some reason I didn't take a picture of that. They came out to template the counter tops on Friday and we should be getting them installed later this week.
The dry wall guys were able to dry wall the mudroom, the stairs up to the third floor, the third floor and then holes throughout the house. They are still working on finishing touches with the spackle so Jared will not be able to start up painting again until Wednesday.
Also, our appliances were delivered on Friday (all except the oven, which is on back order). We picked up our fridge that we have been storing at my aunt and uncle's house on Sunday and dropped that off too. So once the oven comes sometime this week the appliances should be all ready to be installed.
Things are moving along and we are hoping for an early February move in date.

Things Are Moving Along
Since the last time I blogged there have been some changes to the
house. Jared has started to paint with the help of some people. Most
of the house is primed. The kitchen/dining room has the first coat of
our top paint on it and all the other colors for the rest of the house
are picked out. Additionally a lot of the rooms have one coat of the
ceiling paint we are using. Jared's parent's were here yesterday and
today and had planned on putting first coats of our top paint in other
rooms on, but when they got to the house the dry wall guys had patched
holes (made by the electrician) throughout the house. So since the
spackle was wet they were not able to go ahead and start painting the
colors. They moved on to painting the baseboard trim in the bedrooms so
that can be done before the carpets get installed.
Over this past weekend the hardwood floors in the living room, dining room, kitchen and mudroom were all refinished. They look fantastic. This made us be out of the house for the entire weekend since we couldn't be on the floors.
Tuesday our kitchen cabinets were delivered and started getting installed. The cabinets should be fully installed today and I can't wait to go see them after work. I have pictures posted below from how they looked yesterday.
In the next couple of days the dry wall in the mudroom, 3rd floor attic and the stairway openings should all be getting completed. The counter top for the kitchen are going to be templated tomorrow so we should have our counter top installed next week sometime. Our appliances are being delivered tomorrow. The kitchen is starting look like a real kitchen and by next week should hopefully look pretty close to done. I think the only thing that might not be done next week in the kitchen is the tile backsplash.
Yesterday PECO came out and did some work outside to run gas to the house. The meter is getting installed tomorrow and the line PECO ran outside is going to get connected to the house tomorrow. So then we will officially have gas to run our brand new heating system.
